After reviewing several options for soil and water analysis and verification in December 2020, SGS were contracted to undertake this analysis for Natural Science Limited.
SGS are the world’s leading testing, inspection, verification and certification company (www.sgs.com). They have one of the most sophisticated laboratories in Bulgaria based near Varna on the Black Sea and have an established operation for agricultural support in Bulgaria.
On the 5th of January 2020, SGS visited the three fields to be cultivated in 2020 to perform soil analysis. They took approximately 300 soil samples from each field at varying depths. SGS also took water samples from the local river which will be supplying the water to the fields.
In the laboratory the samples were tested for:
- Heavy Metals
- Nitrates
- Pesticides
- Fungicides
- General Contaminates
We are pleased to announce that the test results all came back negative and Atanas Ivanov – Field Trials Manager confirmed
“The analysis of the soil and water has now been completed and the analysis shows nothing unusual or disturbing. The fields that have been tested are ready to start the Organic Farming Certification process immediately.”
